Frequently Asked Questions
What should parents expect during a pediatric eye exam at Visionary Realm?
Our exams are completely stress-free! Dr. Alichia Cox uses playful light tests, animal picture charts, and gentle objective instruments to evaluate eye alignment, depth perception, and focusing skills without any scary eye puff!
At what age should children have their first comprehensive eye exam?
The American Optometric Association recommends a baby’s first exam between 6 and 12 months (covered under InfantSEE®), followed by at least one exam between ages 3 and 5, and annually once school begins.
What is Neuro-Optometric Vision Therapy and who benefits?
Vision therapy is physical therapy for the brain and visual system. It strengthens binocular eye teaming, tracking, and focus, directly helping students with reading fatigue, dyslexia-like symptoms, lazy eye, and sports coordination.
Can kids wear contact lenses safely?
Yes! Many children successfully wear daily disposable contacts for sports and activities as early as 8–10 years old. We provide one-on-one gentle insertion and hygiene training to ensure complete confidence.
